Sumi-e course

Sumi-e classes are scheduled each month with four different levels of learning.

In the sumi-e painting is very important the expression of the sense of emptiness and fullness, which are the energy and gesture that contains a work. This energy and gesture are the bases of creation and the dao (path to the essential nature contained in all beings).

With the sumi-e technique, nature is understood and expressed in a more spiritual way: trees and plants, birds, flowers, mountains and rocks, fish and insects, which are home great vitality. The painter learns to grasp its essence with the mind and heart, transmitting it to his work through the Four Treasures of Study: brush, ink, inkwell, and paper.

Objectives

In the first course, we will learn about the Four Treasures of Study, and the techniques of usage. We will learn to draw bamboo. Bamboo symbolizes personal virtues such as humility, courage and youth. By drawing reed, branches and leaves of bamboo, we will practice the basic techniques for mastering the brush.

In the second course, we will learn to draw orchids. The orchid represents distinction and individualism. The strokes of the leaves of the orchid plant express the elegance in a free gesture. This technique allows us to experiment with energy (Qi) to draw long and curves lines, and to master of the intensity of the strokes, giving them life.

In the third course, we will learn to draw the plum tree. This tree represents the values of a courageous and patient personality. Its rough bark, branches and flowers are key elements in this class, and they will let us know the different tones and traces of strokes, (with combinations of water and ink) the different shapes and surfaces, expressing qualities that convey the essence of trees. Here, we will work with color flowers.

In the fourth course, we will learn to draw fish and prawns. With the experience of the three previous courses, we will have the knowledge to handle the basic techniques that will allow us to master the brush, and the quantity of water and ink. The combination of water and ink used to show water living beings; sumi-e painting allows us to represent these free beings, and bring them to life.

Serigrafía

En este curso básico nos introducimos en la técnica de serigrafía que
nos llevará a conocer este lenguaje gráfico para la creación de imágenes
y su impresión, la obra única, la edición, la impresión sobre diferentes
materiales y soportes.

Objetivos:

Conoceremos el proceso de creación y de impresión de la imagen serigráfica,
la creación y manipulación de clichés manuales y fotográficos. Conoceremos
también las características de los soportes, las tintas y la capacidad de
realizar una edición limitada.
Durante el curso se realizaran ejercicios en que se aprenderá el proceso de
preparación de la pantalla, también se imprimirán las imágenes sobre
soportes diversos con diferentes tipos de tintas.

Curso de iniciación de 8 horas seguimiento individualizado.

on each topic, technique or specialty intensively and in small
groups.

This course's programs are designed with the requisite intensity to
be able to reach, in a defined amount of hours, the knowledge and
goals that this level entails.

These courses are scheduled to include between 8 and 72 hours of
purely studio class time. The extension of time depends on the
type of course and the goals to be reached.

Davinci Art School has an extensive offering of monographic classes
that are scheduled year-round.

Upon completed the course, the student will be presented with a
diploma for the course taken.
